My Weekend

Our power went out Saturday evening around 6:30 and didn’t come back on until around 8pm Sunday.

Electric company told us it would be back on by 10pm Saturday, so we waited and made sure not to open the fridge.

10pm came and went.

Ultimately, it was our fault we lost everything in the fridge, instead of rushing out to buy 10 bags of ice and coolers. The plus side is, the fridge was cleaned.

Had dinner with family tonight. Came home and discovered basement had flooded in Saturday’s storm.

Spent two and half hours pulling up the carpet, lugging it to the trash, and cleaning the floor. The carpet was here when we moved in, and was actually just a large area rug. It was beyond salvageable. So fuck it.

Zach and I had a really great dinner with friends Friday, though. Then we attended the Gallery Walk and I got a wine slushy. I love the wine slushies.

But generally the weekend was a big suck.
